Horizonte Azul is a solo Exhibition that took place at the independent gallery Abra Espacio in 2024 (San José, Costa Rica). This exhibition was a beneficiary of "Art's Production" funding from the Museum of Costa Rican Art (MAC).
It displays a series of works in different media such as paintings, drawings, installations, and sculptures. This body of work comes from several interests and concerns that I allowed myself to explore. Different approaches to painting, formats, supports, and exploring the integral relationship between images, objects, and space.
Much of this work also arose from moments of anxiety, sadness, uncertainty, nostalgia, and admiration for people and moments that live very strongly in my heart and memory. Fear was a constant in all of this, and from there, the question resonated a lot with me: what awaits on the other side of fear?
An important part of this exhibition was the relationship between elements (paintings, objects, display structures) to ensure there was a coherent tension with the main concept of the exhibition.
There was no information about each individual artwork, not even a curatorial text, instead, there was a small book with two poems that allowed the viewers to have an insight about the whole exhibition's theme and experience a different approach to it.
